Novo Nordisk’s spokesperson for diabetes is Rev Run from RunDMC. We had some quotes from him, but my job was to flesh them out, create new ones, and develop a campaign around his story. This involved writing the video script about his family history with diabetes and how he’s staying on top of his condition.
I went from writing in the voice of Rev Run to writing as the actress Alyson Hannigan for Tylenol and Colgate in the Smile Forward campaign. I embellished and added to existing quotes and weaved them into the story of her life as a mom who uses these brands in her day to day life as she cares for her kids.
